Mushroom-picking trip with a guide 26.9.2026
Ykkönen is organizing a mushroom-picking excursion for its members in the Mustavuori recreational area in Helsinki. Laura Jalonen from the Finnish Mushroom Society will guide us through the secrets of mushroom picking. Come enjoy the autumn forest and learn to identify mushrooms!
Time: Sat 26.9.2026 at 11:00-14:00
Location: Mustavuori parking lot, Niinisaari underpass (NOTE! Not the Mustavuori fortress area parking lot — that's a different location)
What to bring: A water bottle and weather-appropriate clothing (we recommend rubber boots). A mushroom basket or paper bag and a mushroom knife, steak knife, or small sharp knife.
We'll meet at 10:45 at the Mustavuori parking lot. (Google Maps: "Niinisaari underpass"). Take bus 560 to the Mustalahdentie stop.
From the parking lot, we'll head as a group to the nearby forest, where we'll learn to identify various edible mushrooms as well as those that shouldn't be eaten. We'll provide a light snack, but you're also welcome to bring your own snacks.Member price: €8 (regular price: €13–20)
Binding registration and free cancellation by 1.9. If you do not cancel your participation in time or fail to show up without a valid reason, you may be charged the actual costs of the event, approximately €20. NOTE! Exceptionally, the invoice has a payment term of only 7 days.
Hike is limited to the first 30 participants and will take place as long as at least 10 people have registered.
The event is subject to weather conditions. A light rain is no problem, but in the event of heavy rain, the event may be canceled or rescheduled.
